Tom Squires - Stone faces

As the late winter sun set the sky was lit like crimson fire, while the desert road lay twisted and bored along under tireless wheels that played in soft harmony and echoed up the length of the canyon. Like an ancient reptile, coiled and vapored in mounting black pavement, tar bubbles snap like endless gum in the heat of the noonday sun.Rolled out in a vision as some bright mute receptacle, a vast store of memory in an ageless dream.
