birds born in midair
never exit the sky
what had no beginning
has no real ending
you can drag the bottom
forever
finding or finding not
searching for that body
..but by which satisfies as an explanation
buys you only time
will never satisfy
and by time you are not made smooth by
not like the stone you hide in your hand
its never been a relief
to just die
or to be the thing you are born to
...however
this one morning
the birds fly lower and closer
than they had ever flown before.
