Tom Emmer Tries Another Race
17 Views • Jun 07, 2013
Description
Emmer has had a colorful political career serving in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2005 until 2011. At the 2010 GOP state convention he was attacked for his DWI record and his effort in the legislature to reduce penalties on drunk drivers. He’s been a relentless opponent of abortion and has consistently challenged LGBT rights efforts. His support of the anti-gay marriage amendment triggered a consumer revolt, beginning with a Target customer cutting up her Target card, against Target for contributing to the PAC supporting Emmer. Target later apologized.
His claim that some tipped waiters and waitresses earn over $100,000 a year got him a bag of pennies dumped on one of his town hall events.
Current 6th district Congresswoman Michele Bachmann surprised most Minnesotans when she announced her retirement in late May as she was leaving for a fact-finding trip to Russia.
The 6th CD has been a Republican stronghold for many years, and in the 2012 Presidential election strongly supported Mitt Romney. Distributed by OneLoad.com
