The woman wanted in connection with the Tokyo subway gas attack in 1995 arrives at the city's Wangan police station for questioning.

Naoko Kikuchi's 17 years on the run came to an end on Sunday.

Kikuchi, now aged 40, was arrested after a tip-off.

Japanese media say she was living with a work colleague at this house in the southwest of Tokyo.

Kikuchi was allegedly a member of the Aum Shinrikyo cult behind the deadly attack.

Sarin nerve gas was released simultaneously on five subway trains at the height of the rush hour.

Twelve people died, thousands became ill.

Thirteen members of the cult including its leader are on death row.

Another gave himself up minutes before the start of the New Year.

One more is still on the run.
