Todd Kramer - Silent night

As I sit in dark silence,
not a whisper I hear,
not even in the distance.
some would go mad. but not I
for you see in my past
I was a soldier of misfortune.
I would hear bullets and morters whistle by,
no matter day or night.
sometimes so close the ground would rumble,
my heart turned to stone in an instant
with feelings not to share with others, ever....
