Size didn't matter one bit when Diesel, a gentle Cane Corso, went looking for a place to lie down before he spotted a tiny kitten in his bed.

Dorothy Blake captured the hilarious moment her giant dog discovered that his bed had already been claimed by the smallest member of the household - a tiny kitten named Nimbus.

Rather than pushing the kitten aside, Diesel simply sat next to the bed.

The patient dog carefully nudged and sniffed the kitten with his nose.

Completely relaxed, the tiny kitten refused to budge, leaving the massive Cane Corso standing politely beside his own bed.

The adorable standoff had viewers laughing.

Dorothy said: "Our new kitten, Nimbus, was laying on our dog, Diesel's bed looking innocently at Diesel as Diesel looked onward to me as if to move Nimbus so he could lay in his bed."
