I don’t know why my love for you
Always makes me think the impossible
Though for your love I wander like a monk
Most of the time I remain calm and cool

I think of the Moon;
Why does not it fall on the Earth
And break into pieces like a disc of glass
Then my lover’s only rival would vanish
No poet would ever write on its beauty
And the world would always say that
I have found as my lover the most beautiful lass

I think of the Roses;
I think I could crush them all
And dump them like a heap of dirt
When a flower would bloom somewhere
They would say that the flower is
As beautiful as the face of his sweetheart
