Description

The space shuttle Endeavour squeezes past a building as it rolls through the streets of Los Angeles.

On its 12-mile (19-km) journey to the California Science Centre, the shuttle narrowly missed a number of structures lining the route.

While traffic lights and trees were felled to make room, organisers said the Endeavour's wings would pass just inches from collision.

It's the largest object ever to move through the city.

The shuttle flew 25 missions for the U.S. space programme, and will become a permanent public attraction at the museum.
