Tia Maria - Whatever gets you through the day...

I cannot get to thinking
of something more profound
Not doing much sleeping
with all this clowning around

I wander around the kitchen
make another cup of tea
More words begin to fill my head
and fill my heart with glee

It's wonderful, hysterical
it really makes my day
This funfair is a miracle
Where me, myself, I, play

But it's not always easy living
inside this crazy head
I sometimes consider drinking
to put these thoughts to bed

But at least these thoughts
though wild as they may be
Distract from the old thoughts
and move along with me

I know what you thinking
but really don't feel bad
I have not been drinking
and am not going mad

This is just survival
until I find my way
To laugh at life, to share a joke
what gets me through each day
