Three “very” little pigs

To welcome the lunar new year, Taiwanese miniature artist Chen Forng-shean has crafted “three little pigs” from grains of rice. Fans of the works will be warned not to “huff and puff” for fear they might blow away the animals which measure only about one mm (0.04 inch), and required three months of painstaking carving work including more than 20 failed attempts. Chen, 63, has been sculpting miniatures since he was 25 and has created around 200 masterpieces. His latest tiny carvings are ready just in time to celebrate the Chinese zodiac’s Year of the Pig which gets underway on February 5, 2019.
