Description

Tears
For a while now, they’ve been of sorrow.
Now they cleanse. All.
Even at this moment,
You may be closing the door on my affections
But my heart can take that now.
I finally know why.
I know.
I know why I love you.

You know that smile you get,
When someone you love smiles at you?
That inside smile you get?
Well, mine isn’t leaving.
Not since it hit me.

Like seeing the first star,
And knowing you’re the only one in the car who has.
Like hearing that someone speak, after sitting on hold for twenty minutes.
Like your eyes.

You say their plain.
But what you’ve missed in your attempt to
Belittle your beauty is this:
There is simplistic beauty in wholesome plainness.
Have you ever noticed that old people seem to have a steady grip on life?
Yet we’ve an abundance of kids thinking the world should bend.

They all calm down,
In the end.
They all turn real.

Reality.
In a person.

It’s not a maturity issue.
It’s personality.
It’s personal.
It’s you.
You’re real.

You could be giving your heart away right now
(while I’m on hold)
And I would still love you forever.
Because I know why.
I finally know.
