This Robot Can Grab Anything
Description
by Anthony Falco
A new robot is designed to grab any and every object with ease. Developed at UC Berkeley, Dexnet first uses its robotic arm to study the shape of an object with its 3D sensor, then determines what type of grip is needed. A database feeds the robot 6.7 million unique 3D shapes; Dexnet then uses this data to learn how to grab even awkwardly shaped items. The developers report that Dexnet has a 99 percent success rate. The post This Robot Can Grab Anything appeared first on Vocativ.
