This Instagram Makeup Artist Creates Trippy Optical Illusions

This makeup artist creates the trippiest looks. Her name is Mimi Choi, and she’s a self-taught artist who only started taking makeup seriously three years ago. Her looks take up to three hours on average, but can take up to five hours to complete - she’s even taken a nap halfway through a session. Choi says about her process, “I seldom have a specific plan or design in my head…I like spontaneity and creating just because I feel like it.” She uses makeup, craft brushes and an intense attention to detail to ensure that her designs look super real, “The key to making the illusion look realistic, to me, is to have good observation of your surroundings.”
