Third Front spooks government- NewsX

The miserable performance of both the main national parties - Congress and BJP - has brought the talks of a Third Front back on the national political agenda. Whispers about a Third Front also grew in the light of the fact that Akali Dal and Samajwadi Party, which have won elections in Punjab and Uttar Pradesh respectively, sent out invites to leaders of parties and Chief Ministers across the divide. After its recent thumping victory in Uttar Pradesh, Samajwadi Party sounded hopeful about a Third Front. Trinamool leader Mamata Banerjee is watching closely how things shape up.
