Why we're excited: Technically the fourth installment in the fan-favorite Thief series, the latest game is a reboot that has been under development for a staggering five years. But all it takes is one brief look at the gameplay trailer to see that it has been time well spent.

You play a thief in a dystopian Victorian England, a quasi-Robin Hood fighting injustice by stealing from the wealthiest, cruelest inhabitants of the city, with gameplay looking to be equal parts stealth, strategy and combat. So far, it's the gameplay mechanics and the dark, brooding atmosphere created by the art design that has turned heads and made us eager to try out this long-awaited game.
