Lying on the rocks by the lapping tide
Watching the crabs go scuttling by

Voices from the waves, they’d call to me
And I would jump into the foam
Sand and sea were all and all to me
Beach and ocean were my home

There is a beach that lies beyond this bay
Where sand sharks and sea stars play
And I could just sit in the sinking sun
Smiling back at the horizon

Voices from the waves, they’d sing to me
And my spirits would rise with the foam
Orcas, they would bring to me
Gifts from wherever they had roamed
