‘The Simpsons’ Set New TV Record

On Sunday, The Simpsons will break a new TV record once set by shows like The Flintstones and The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet.
Homer and family will become the longest-running prime-time animated and live action sitcoms in the U.S.
Nine years ago the long-running western, "Gunsmoke" set that record when they aired their 635th and final episode.
On April 29, 2018, The Simpsons will top that, when they air their 636th episode, titled, “Forgive and Regret.”
Executive Producer Al Jean explains, "We never dreamed we’d get this far ... I thought if we made it, it would be a marvelous tribute to the writers, animators, and cast who work so hard; and particularly to the wonderful fans who’ve stuck with us all these years.
