Spring is the perfect season to enjoy the true essence of Korea’s nature. The pure and delicate lyricism of spring has inspired many artists of Korea. Korean folk music is filled with the vitality of nature.
Ji Young-hee, a legendary figure of Korean folk music, and Sung Kum-yon, a gayageum virtuoso, were pioneers of traditional Korean music. In real life, they were a great couple. And, they were a perfect match for each other’s musical performance.
There are two ways to live life. One is the easy way that most people choose to follow. The other is an unknown path that no one has walked before. No pioneer in the world ever chooses to follow in the footsteps of others. Ji Young-hee and Sung Kum-yon believed that if there was no path to walk, they could make the path on their own. They were true trailblazers of Korean folk music.
