The Rolling Stones rock Brooklyn
Description
ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)
STORY: The Rolling Stones returned to Brooklyn for the first time since the 60's to perform one of their five-concert reunion shows.
The veteran group made up of Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood kicked off the show with "Get Off of My Cloud." Then weaved in and out of classic hits and new songs from their recently released greatest hits album. Soul singer Mary J. Blige teamed up with Jagger for "Gimme Shelter." While guitar player Gary Clark, Jr. joined the group during what Jagger called "blues time."
Much talk has been made about the high ticket prices for the concerts which began in London and will end in New Jersey. In between songs Jagger reflected on how long it had been since the group had played in Brooklyn, noting how cheap bread and milk were, before jokingly declining to reveal the price of how much Rolling Stones ticket was then.
Before the show fans young and old loaded into Brooklyn's new Barclays Center.
"Bringing my kids to their first Stones show," said one die-hard hoping to turn his children into Stone followers.
The Rolling Stones will play two shows at the Newark Prudential Center on December 13th and 15th. The group has yet to reveal if they will continue to tour in 2013.
