The gas fire's coughing like an old relation,
Frost on my window, this damned condensation,
I'm sat here in my slippers, with coffee gone cold,
Counting down the years before I get old,
The sun turns up late again, the street is slush and spite,
the Neighbours are suffering arguing through the night.

Come on Summertime, come and do your stuff,
Come on Summertime, make it less rough,

Oh a world is complaining about robots and unrest,
People are glued to tv screens, computers and internet,
And phones and drones,
But all I can see is deckchairs out on a beach,
not long now heaven is in reach.
And the sun will be here again even warming up the night,
But the neighbours they will still be arguing through the night.

Come on Summertime, come and do your stuff,
Come on Summertime, make it less rough,
