We recognize ourselves
Beaming bright eyed

They are a shadow
Though coloured and smiling
A dim reflection of once

Would you live
As that frozen being
In those old pictures
Being caught suspended

Turn from that window
Though tinselled and beckoning
To the warm touch of now.
