The Lab is our weekly office rave up/live stream direct from Mixmag HQ. Over the last few weeks The Lab has been re-located to the Samsung GALAXY Shoreditch Studio and this week we return to the pop-up record shop in the heart of East London for the final time.

This time we welcomed both The Orb and RAC into The Lab.

The legendary Alex Paterson formed The Orb back in 1988. Their early performances were inspired by the likes of Kraftwork and Brian Eno. Their sound saw the worlds of ambient, acid house and dub collide, perfectly seen in their track 'Loving You/A Huge Ever-Growing Pulsating Brain That Rules From The Centre Of The Ultraworld' a track which went on to become an anthem of a generation.

RAC is an artist who made his name in the remix world. To date his upbeat and feel good dance sound has seen him remix for the likes of Lana Del Ray, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Pheonix. His first single 'Hollywood' featuring Penguin Prison, topped all four Hype Machine charts and earlier this year he released his debut EP 'Don't Talk To' on Cherrytree Records which saw Bloc Partys Kele feature on the lead track.
