The Normal - Warm Leatherette (1978)

The song was written with the 1973 J. G. Ballard novel Crash in mind, which was later made into a film of the same title directed by David Cronenberg in 1996. So, of course there are a lot of scenes from the film in this video. However, other possible meanings of "leatherette" present themselves, and these are mashed into the mix as well. A steady, fast oscillating beat guides the visual material throughout. Grace Jones recorded a cover of "Warm Leatherette" for her popular 1980 album of the same name.
