The New York Sun shuts down

They were not filing for bankruptcy protection. The 110 employees currently employed would receive pay through November and Health insurance through the end of the year. Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg issued a statement saying he was sorry to see the paper close. “The Sun shone brightly, though too briefly,” the mayor said, calling the paper’s writers “smart, thoughtful, provocative.”
