The new BMW M2 with M xDrive Interior Design

The 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine in the new BMW M2 with M xDrive features BMW's patented new pre-chamber combustion process, BMW M Ignite technology. This innovation represents a successful technology transfer from motorsport to series production and will be used in all BMW M inline six-cylinder engines from mid-2026. The pre-chamber combustion process significantly reduces fuel consumption under high load. At the same time, this new engine technology helps meet the requirements of the EU7 emissions standard. The BMW M2 engine with M xDrive retains its signature M performance characteristics, with spontaneous response and linear power delivery all the way to high revs. A thrilling engine sound accompanies the spirited power delivery. The reduced fuel consumption under high load thanks to BMW M Ignite technology is a particular advantage for customers who use their vehicles, for example, at track days. They get more driving time on the racetrack with the same amount of fuel.

The engine in the BMW M2 with M xDrive retains its typical M performance characteristics, with spontaneous response and linear power delivery all the way to high revs. The BMW M2 with M xDrive comes standard with an 8-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic, ensuring highly dynamic engine power delivery. Standard M light-alloy wheels, 19 inches at the front and 20 inches at the rear, transfer the power to the road. Track tires are available as an option.

For optimal deceleration, even on the racetrack, the M Compound braking system features six-piston fixed calipers at the front and single-piston calipers at the rear.
