The New Americans: ArTech
Description
Dhanashree Gadiyar was trained in art in India but moved to NYC after graduate school, citing the city as the perfect place for an artist to live. Today, she has art studio in Yonkers, where she lives with her husband and new baby. Though she has been very successful as an artist, currently with an exhibit at Bronx Museum of Art, Dhanashree finds her true inspiration from her students at ArTech, where she is the director or the adult art program for the intellectually disabled, an AHRC NYC program.
