The Mowjo - Footprints

Description
There is no moon tonight and the darkness sticks to me like a wet blanket,
Enveloping me, the silence of the night is deafening, but I hear nothing,
Putting me on edge as it touches my very soul, and every pore of my skin,
4am approaches with caution as the first rays of the new day appear,
Slowly the sun rises and the first birdsongs start as night turn to day,
Ah the Blackbirds song, one that has haunted me all my life for some reason,
The little bird that holds a special place in my heart, because of its beauty,
If on my deathbed I could hear one last sound it would be the Blackbirds song,
5am and melancholy set in and I start to question my very existence,
What is my purpose here? What mysteries will life hold for me?
Is my existence and reason for being here, only known by some higher power?
Or is it just a question of balance? That I must some how try to understand,
Could I be metamorphic like the Butterfly? And will one day emerge,
Or will only time and events change me?
I know that I can be more, and that the soul within me is just waiting,
Waiting for the time when body and soul separate like old friends,
Never to meet again as one decays and the other is born,
But what of the now, what purpose, and why?
6am the Suns rays hit my face and melancholy departs,
The Blackbird sings to me and I start to understand,
My purpose is to sing for you, and leave a footprint in your heart,
Perhaps a footprint in every heart, so that my living has meaning,
And that my footprints will leave tracks in hearts that will go on,
Never to be erased, that others will follow in, and I will be remembered,
