Inhalt: Sutton Mercer ist 17 Jahre alt und lebt mit ihrer Adoptivfamilie in Phoenix. Eines Tages findet sie heraus, dass sie eine Zwillingsschwester hat. Das Mädchen heißt Emma und lebt in ärmlichen Verhältnissen. Die beiden organisieren ein Treffen und beschließen dabei, ihre Rollen zu tauschen. Während Emma zu Suttons Familie zieht, macht sich Sutton auf die Suche nach ihrer leiblichen Mutter. Doch dann erscheint Sutton nicht zum vereinbarten Treffen, bei dem sie ihre Rollen wieder wechseln wollten und deshalb bleibt Emma weiterhin in der Rolle ihrer Zwillingsschwester.
