1932 directed by Henry McRae starring Frank Albertson, Ernie Nevers, Cecilia Parker, Caryl Lincoln with Francis Ford, J. Frank Glendon and Frank Beal. Early Universal serial directed by Canadian film pioneer, Henry Macrae, concerns a stolen train, gold and two college students who battle the bad guys. From a story by Arthur Conan Doyle. The serial changes the location from England to the American West and does not include the character of Sherlock Holmes. Good serial with impressive, live-action car and boat chases (as opposed to rear-screen projection) and action on top the moving locomotive. The source was terrible quality.
