Early Universal serial directed by Canadian film pioneer, Henry Macrae, concerns a stolen train, gold and two college students who battle the bad guys. From a story by Arthur Conan Doyle. The serial changes the location from England to the American West and does not include the character of Sherlock Holmes. Interesting use of live action(as opposed to rear-screen projection) during car and boat chases and for the fights on top of the moving train.
