The Global African

Each week on “The Global African” host Bill Fletcher, Jr. addresses issues facing Africa and the African Diasporas. In today's program Fletcher looks at Black colleges and universities. Originally established after the US Civil War, they were cornerstone institutions in the African-American communities, attracting the best and the brightest young minds and providing many of leading activists in the civil rights movements of the 1950s and 1960s. But are such Black colleges and universities still relevant? How will they change when today's minorities of color become tomorrows majority?
