The foreign labour conundrum

Socio-Economic Research Centre (SERC) executive director Lee Heng Guie said while the government has frozen the intake of new foreign workers until Dec 2020, indications are that relevant ministries and agencies are currently looking at ways to ease the current situation of labour shortages so that it is not only confined to the plantation, construction and agriculture sectors.
