The Eagle Has Landed - Surf - 2013

Shot by onepalmMEDIA.com on Thursday 15th & 16th March using our Red Epic shot 2K @ 240fps with custom Dave Kelly housing ( [email protected] ) using 5.7mm Kinoptik and 40mm Zeiss Distagon Mk2 lenses.

The day after the 2013 Quiksilver Pro finished, Kirra turned on in a way that it hadn't done so for the last 10 - 15 years. Clear skies, clear water and a nice groundswell courtesy of Tropical Cyclone Sandra pulsing endless lines into the once fabled Gold Coast point break of the 70's, 80's and 90's.

I admit it, I blew it.... I got there late but decided to swim out and shoot from the water. Would've loved to have been there when all the best surfers in the world were ruling it, but I was walking on the beach at Broadbeach with my 5 month old son. It is what it is, C'est La Vie, etc......

This clip, it's not gonna be everyone's cup of java..... cos it's not 2 minutes long with the latest on trend garage band, but I do hope you enjoy the art in it and fall in love with the ocean like I do every time I envelop myself in it.

I'd like to thank Mind Tree ( soundcloud.com/mindtree ) for the tunes and Red Digital Cinema ( red.com ) for making an unreal piece of equipment that I am constantly impressed with.
