Into the Dark: Season Overview

The "Into the Dark" season shifts focus away from Black Tusk and centers on the Hyenas. They have developed a highly potent, pain-resistant chemical "spice" formula. Your main objective is to infiltrate the Toxic Dark Zone, disrupt their operations, and secure the chemical sample canisters.

Dark Zone Variants

The season updates the competitive experience and introduces a strictly PvE version of the Dark Zone.

Toxic Dark Zone (PvE): Rogue protocols and friendly fire are deactivated, making it a purely cooperative environment up to 12 Agents. However, the area remains perilous due to environmental toxicity and highly buffed Hyena enemies.

Balanced Dark Zone: The classic PvPvE experience with strict normalization based on the Conflict ruleset, ensuring Expertise and SHD Watch bonuses are disabled for a more even playing field.

Key Gameplay Additions

PvP Overhaul: The season kicks off a broader balancing pass for Weapon and Gear Talents across all competitive modes.

Classified Assignments: Two new assignments—Conspiracy Zone Hideout and McMillan Reservoir Assault—are accessible via the Assignments map tab for lore and collectible hunters.

Rewards & Gear: Completing the Climax mission on Master difficulty offers a chance to secure the "Underboss" Exotic SMG.
