shazap.com Well, the series has finally come to an end, if you can call it that. It has become painfully obvious that this is not a stand alone series, nor is it truly over. For the first time in the series I felt that I was missing out by not reading the first series so that kind of sucked, plus there was no resolution. The imbecile child shows up and somehow helps Rowland to escape the grapefruit but we don’t know what happened to him and the Crimson King is still around. There was no battle; no triumph and no real pay off. This story is about a gunslinger for god’s sake and we couldn’t get a little bit of a fight at the end. Now this isn’t the first time I’ve finished a Steven King story with more questions than I started with but come on, give me a little bit. There was no explanation to the kid’s supernatural powers or what the creatures did to him, or what the grapefruit was especially that it brought his spirit to the dark tower which is a physical place and so on I just wasn’t satisfied. The build up was so good but I feel like there was no payoff what so ever and now they tell me there is another story coming in September. The art was amazing and the story started off great but I’m a little bitter and I don’t know if I will come back in September. I guess it’s a good thing they give us enough time to get over it.
