The Color Thieves

The story follows Sakura, a Keshiki-Nusubi (Scenery Thief), who possesses the unique and agonizing gift of perceiving the full spectrum of color and emotion in a world drained of both. She wields a specialized brush that can literally extract color from objects, artworks, or even the memory of a vivid sunset.

However, using her power comes at a terrible cost: for every vibrant stroke of color she adds back into the colorless world, a piece of her own personal memory fades. Hunted by the Monochromatic Guard—a government entity dedicated to maintaining the "stable peace" of the Void—Sakura battles against a forgetful society to keep the light and emotion of the past alive, even as she forgets who she is. It is a race against time and amnesia to complete her ultimate masterpiece before she loses herself completely to the gray.
