The Boy, previously known as The Inhabitant, is an upcoming American supernatural horror film directed by William Brent Bell and written by Stacey Menear. The film stars Lauren Cohan. Filming began on March 10, 2015, in Victoria, British Columbia. The film is scheduled to be released by STX Entertainment on January 22, 2016.
An American, Greta (Lauren Cohan), takes a job as a nanny in a remote village in the United Kingdom. Upon arrival, she learns that the child she was hired to care for is actually a life-size porcelain doll that the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Heelshire, treat like a real boy to cope with the death of their son, Brahms, twenty years before. After she ignores a list of strict rules, disturbing events lead Greta to believe that the doll is actually alive. A few days later the Heelshire's commit suicide leaving a letter to Greta. Some days later while keeping the rules, Greta finds out that Brahms didn't die but is still alive and living in the basement
