The band was formed in Akron, Ohio in 2001 and has sold over 1.7 million records to date. Their music and style is frequently compared to The White Stripes, Jimi Hendrix and blues artists, Junior Kimbrough, Muddy Waters and Elmore James. Famous fans of the band include musicians Led Zeppelin, frontman Robert Plant, Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age, Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top, and Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead.
