Description
Directed by the man behind many of the Gorillaz earlier videos, it’s out to mark the launch of a new compilation of live BBC recordings by the Fab Four.
The video mixes vintage footage with modern computer graphics creating a unique backdrop for the previously unreleased sound.
The follow-up to the first “Live at the BBC” collection released nearly 20 years ago, ‘Live At The BBC Volume 2’ features 63 recordings made in the early to mid 1960s.
It includes different versions of six rarities such as the sparkling 1963 cover of “Words of Love”, recorded a year before the Beatles cut it for a record. Other gems include Ray Charles’ “I Got a Woman”, Little Richard’s “Lucille” and Chuck Berry’s “Memphis, Tennessee”.
Thirty well-loved Beatles classics also make up the catalogue, five of which were number one hits, as well as other favorites such as “I Saw Her Standing There” and “Twist And Shout”.
The mounting Beatlemania surrounding their concerts can also be felt in the recording of “Misery” live in March 1963, where screams can be heard among the audience.
