The video, which could not be independently verified by Reuters comes as reports from residents that the government is now targeting rebel-held neighborhoods turning the city into what one resident calls a battle zone.
More footage appears to show the ongoing shelling of a Damascus suburb.
One General who defected from the Syrian Army and was educated in Russia is now calling on Moscow to back the Syrian people and abandon the regime of President Bashar al Assad.
Footage purportedly from Rastan shows citizens trying to help the wounded. Others have fled to Turkey to find help. Violence is escalating in Syria with rights groups saying that 550 people have been killed in the past 48 hours.
