Here’s some information on protecting your pet from common household dangers. Chocolate is poisonous to dogs, cats and ferrets, so don’t let them near it. Fumes from nonstick cooking surfaces and self-cleaning ovens can be deadly to birds. Antifreeze that contains ethylene glycol has a sweet taste that attracts some animals but is deadly even if consumed in small quantities.
