The Bad Things/ Drunken Doughboy

Music video made for the Bad Things, a Seattle band, in 2010 for their song "Drunken Doughboy". The video essentially follows the lyrics to the song, about an American soldier in World War One remembering a war crime he committed on the front. After getting so drunk on the green fairy he beings to hallucinate, first with a vision of his girl back home, then a German he shot in the back, and finally while dancing with a gypsy at the bar, he is transported back to the front via his violent twirling by the gypsy. --What triggers the hallucination is the doughboy's staring at the little crosses in the absinthe spoon. These remind him of the Iron Cross he took off the dead German.-- Finally, the gypsy and the bar owner, seeing how drunk the American is, conspire to knock him out and steal his money, and they take his stolen Iron Cross off of him as well. The video is made for fans of the Bad Things, and of the era in which the video is made.
