Oscar-nominated comedy-slash-satire about Mrs. Jill Baker (Merle Oberon, A Song To Remember), a bored housewife with a problem ... chronic hiccups. It doesn't help that her husband Larry (Melvyn Douglas, Hud) likes to poke her in the stomach, which annoys the hell out of her. Desperate to find a solution, Jill takes her problems to her doctor, Dr. Vengard (Alan Mowbray). But then she runs into wild bohemian artist Alexander Sebastian (Burgess Meredith, Rocky V), who has the power to stop her hiccups, and to change her perspective on art, music and even life. However, Jill's husband starts to get jealous of Sebastian, and thats when things get crazy.
