Tesla's China Export Surge
Description
Tesla delivered 74,212 vehicles to the China domestic market in June, along with exporting 19,468 cars, according to data from the China Passenger Car Association. Although domestic deliveries in June experienced a 4.78% decline compared to last year, they showed a significant improvement of 74.58% compared to May. The CPCA's data also disclosed that the Model 3 and Model Y had sold 30,637 and 63,043 units, respectively, including exports. Tesla's Gigafactory Shanghai traditionally follows a delivery strategy that prioritizes exporting vehicles in the first half of each quarter and focuses on the domestic market in the latter half, with the final month of the quarter mainly emphasizing domestic deliveries. However, during the second quarter, Tesla China deviated from this pattern and exported 19,468 cars in June, despite it being the final month of the quarter.
