Ted Sheridan - Precipitating Circumstances

It is raining today and it is one of those rainy days where you either forget
that it is raining out of doors or you are surprised by the deluge of water
beating against the outside walls of your afforded protective covering
At the present it is the later which gives me pause and lets me off the hook
for tending to things like washing the car or the dog and mowing the lawn
Tomorrow’s forecast is for abundant amounts of sunshine and warmth
which will inevitably do me the extreme courtesy of providing me another excuse
for neglecting what I could have been doing today as there are always bills
and pending obligations to be paid or met….
But it is raining today and my tongue is too dry to lick a stamp
