You make them up,

They don't make sense.

You make them true,

In your defense.

Some save your life,

Some get you killed.

Not all of them

Become your shield.

They're called excuses,

But they're really lies.

Stop making them up,

Just realize.

The clock is ticking

Open your eyes

Stop making them up

They're a waste of time.
