Tax man too aggressive?

There is a big Income Tax (IT) meeting, which is happening in Mumbai today. There have been widespread concerns about the income tax department sending out notices to companies across the country and large number of notices in a very short time span and two companies for withholding depositing tax deducted at source (TDS) with the government. Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) yesterday issued a circular citing some numbers saying as compared to the total returns filed, the number of circulars, which have gone out, notices which have gone out is pretty small but there is a meeting in Mumbai between stakeholders.
