Tashira Rodriguez - Alone in Silence

I'm usually happy and fine.
It's when I'm alone that I somehow find.
Something to make me angry and sad,
And to make me think thoughts I shouldn't have had.

I think of the moments when you were near,
And the pain your absence brought wasn't so severe.
I think of happy days when my eyes were dry,
And I wouldn't sit alone at night and cry.

Silence is what brings these thoughts out.
Making me want to stand up and shout,
Shout to the world all of the pain I have hidden inside.
The pain that no longer wishes to hide.

In the house your name is unspoken,
Like a silent promise that cannot be broken.
We do not dare to speak your name,
Because if we open the wounds it'll never be the same.

My freshest memory is of that night.
Coming home to see chaos is the sight.
The sight that's forever engraved in my mind,
To which's memories a cure I'll never find.

Whoever said silence is the key,
Must have not been able to see.
All of the thoughts that silence brings,
And the song of loneliness and pain which silence sings.
