Target Tests Next-Day Delivery

Target ($TGT@US) is testing an extension facility in Smyrna, Georgia, enabling it to offer next-day delivery to more customers. The facility will allow Target-owned delivery service Shipt to pick up packages and deliver them to customers' doorsteps. Target has opened nine sortation centers to group boxes into more efficient delivery routes and plans to have at least 15 by January 2026. The extension facility expands the radius for faster deliveries and will bring next-day delivery within reach of 500,000 more customers near Atlanta. Target's e-commerce sales have declined 3.4% YoY, and the retailer seeks to deliver online orders more profitably.
