Tara Crown - Sanctuary

Description
talk with me at water's edge.
Listen soft, the words I speak,
they leap from my heart's ledge.
Roll up your pants and kick off your shoes,
let me bathe you wandering feet.
My inward song pours over you,
oiled liquid, salted sweet.
My searching hands, two caged birds,
they flutter, unable to soar.
Hold them safe inside your palms,
reveal to them the open door.
Brush back now the veil from my eyes,
that I may fully see your light.
Hold me in your arms, my love,
and touch me deep this night.
What stars above the parting trees,
that chance to glance the ground.
They scoop up armfuls of our bliss,
and long to tumble down.
Let me climb behind your smile,
to swim your ocean blues.
And when again I come ashore,
taste dripping salt and milky hues.
Inside my mouth, beneath my tongue,
lay rounded, smooth and gleaming.
The silver pearl of your depths,
your heart and private dreaming.
Will you come and take it back,
from inside my naked hollow?
Or grant me this, your succulance,
to savour and to swallow?
Come now darling and dance with me,
in this, our Sanctuary.
And kiss the utterance from my lips
that falls kicking and contrary.
